How to Find Us...
The Samnaun Valley is the first side-valley on the left as you enter
the Swiss region of Engadin and also borders on the Austrian region
of the Tyrol.
Five small villages lie tucked away in the high-Alpine landscape
at an altitude of between 1700 m and 1840 m above sea level: Samnaun-Compatsch,
Samnaun-Laret, Samnaun-Plan, Samnaun-Ravaisch and Samnaun-Dorf.
Getting to the Samnaun Valley by car...
... via Switzerland: take the "Engadinstrasse" motorway
(turn off at Vinadi, travel over the Flüela, Albula or Julier
mountain passes or take the Vereina-Autoverlad car shuttle train.
In winter it is advisable to travel through the Vereinatunnel, in
summer an approach via the Flüela mountain pass offers a wonderful
mountain panorama).
... via Tyrol: take the B171 (Inntal-Bundesstraße)
via Landeck until you reach Pfunds. Turn off at the “Kajetansbrücke” bridge
and continue via Spiss until you reach Samnaun. The approach road
travelling through the Swiss-Austrian border region is wider and better
developed than the approach road coming from Switzerland which includes
a one-way traffic system in the tunnels.
... via Italy: head towards Milan or
Merano via the “Reschenpass” mountain pass. Upon reaching
Nauders turn off at the “Kajetansbrücke” bridge and
continue via Spiss to Samnaun.
Note! Winter equipment (snowchains etc.) is essential from the end
of November until early April.
